Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2014 Nuits Saint Georges 1Er Cru Clos des Thorey has a very attractive bouquet, bright and lively with red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit intermingled with fine mineral tones. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky smooth texture, well judged acidity, seamlessly integrated oak and a harmonious pastille-like finish. This is just a superb Nuits Saint Georges from winemaker Pierre Vincent.

Moderately saturated medium red. Higher-pitched on the nose than the village Chambolle, offering good mineral lift to the aromas of raspberry and spices. Lovely stony minerality further energizes the fine-grained flavors of cranberry and blood orange. This dry, classic, understated Burgundy has the energy to evolve slowly and gracefully in bottle.

Smells as welcoming as a pair of old slippers (without the sweat). Lots of comfortable ripe fruit and great balance. Lively fruit. Dense and vibrant. GV (JR)
