Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Village had a heavy reduction on the nose that made it difficult to read. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, fresh and crunchy blackcurrant and raspberry fruit. Lightly spiced courtesy of a pinch of white pepper with a short saline finish. Fine.

Domaine-owned vines, 1.5 ha in total spread across Le Fourneau, La Justice, Combe du Bas and Clos Prieur, inter alia. 20% whole clusters, 20% new oak. Cask sample. Pale ruby. Fine, elegant strawberry fruit on the nose. Restrained and refined. No brooding Gevrey fruit or heaviness, but no lightweight either. Full of charm but showing definite spine. (MH)
