(Duband works with two parcels in Les Herbeux): Medium red. Slightly medicinal aromas of red berries and earth. Quite tight in the middle, not yet showing the shape or energy of the Côte de Nuits-Villages. This wine will need to fill in in order to support its building tannins. Duband told me that for 15 years he purchased fruit from a higher section of the vineyard but that he couldn't get those grapes in 2016. But he managed to find another supplier closer to the Morey side of the climat , at the same altitude and with a healthy crop level.
