Tasting Notes and Scores

The 2022 Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has a lovely, pure bouquet, with well-defined raspberry and wild strawberry fruit. The oak is nicely integrated here and allows the terroir to show through. The palate is medium-bodied with forward red berry fruit, touches of hickory and chestnut and quite prominent oak on the finish, but it manages to carry it off. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.

From 90-year-old vines. 100% new oak. Cask sample. Mid cherry. Deep raspberry and a little cassis on the nose. The oak adds real spice and complexity on the finish, ably balancing the deeper, concentrated fruit. Fine acidity and rounded, well-knit tannins. Even more classic than the regular village Gevrey.
