More ethereal and expressive than the brooding 2018, Guyon's 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Platières is showing beautifully, bursting with scents of wild berries, peonies, dark chocolate and spices. Medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, it's deep and nicely concentrated, with a perfumed core of fruit, powdery tannins and a long, sapid finish.
