Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2021 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has quite a lot of reduction on the nose, although there is sufficient fruit behind it with cranberry, blackcurrant and a touch of balsam. It seems to become quite muddled with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and quite tart red fruit laced with mandarin and allspice. It does cohere towards the finish, which is probably the best facet of this Grand Cru. Hopefully, it will get its act together with continued bottle age. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
