Tasting Notes and Scores

89-91 ST

Dark red with ruby highlights. Soil-driven aromas of dark fruits, mocha, brown spices and underbrush, plus a whiff of white pepper; I might have guessed this was vinified with a portion of whole clusters but Sérafin destems all of his fruit. Plump and sweet in the middle yet with a medicinal coolness to its flavors of black cherry, mint and pepper. Finishes with substantial, slightly rustic tannins and lingering sweetness. Seems less ripe than some of the other crus here.
