Tasting Notes and Scores
Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Petits Monts has a bouquet that approaches with open arms, offering bountiful raspberry and wild strawberry aromas, touches of wet limestone in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with corpulent tannins, well-judged acidity, great substance and depth. Its harmony belies the structure here, but the finish has a focus and symmetry that is very appealing and bodes well for the future.

(100% vendange entier): Good medium red. Knockout perfume of candied raspberry, crushed stone and rose petal. At once silky and precise, with superb energy and lift to the sweet middle palate. This very classy wine saturates the entire palate without leaving any impression of weight. Finishes with superb lift and lingering perfume. A beauty in the making. Again, the stems contribute structure and complexity without introducing any greenness to the wine.
