Aromas of ripe berry fruit, licorice, peonies and smoked tea introduce the 2018 Blagny 1er Cru La Genelotte, a medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent wine that's lively and tonic, with powdery tannins and succulent acids. This cuvée derives from a parcel planted in 1934, and Martelet opted to retain some 20% whole clusters, macerating for around 12 days with pump-overs.
