The 2015 Volnay Les Taillepieds 1er Cru has a refined, focused bouquet of pure brambly red fruit and a subtle mineral vein that becomes more accentuated with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly gritty tannin. A rather angular Volnay at the moment, culminating in a short finish that leaves you wanting more. So-so. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
