The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru has a striking nose of red apples, yellow flowers and powdered chalk, all very well defined. The palate is well balanced with lime and orange cordial on the entry, a twist of sour lemon and a pleasant bitterness lending edge on the finish. This should age nicely in bottle.

Cask sample. Interesting minerally, sappy nose. Real life here! Lots of pungent fruit with a green-herby overlay. Lots of depth. Serious wine. (JR)
