Loads of Krug aromas and voluptuousness, gigantic body, and warm fruit. Even so, this is the vintage that has constantly failed to impress me. The vanilla aroma is a little exaggerated, and the elegance is greater in Cristal and Salon—to take two examples—this year.

The 1976 Krug Vintage was spellbinding. The wine’s signature warm, toasty creaminess was beautifully balanced by vibrant, bracing acidity. It was a great Champagne.
