Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2008 Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Terre de Vertus is drop-dead gorgeous. A wine of intense minerality and pure cut, the Terre de Vertus dazzles from start to finish. Grapefruit, mint, wild flowers and anise jump out in a wine that is totally alive and constantly changing in the glass. Hints of almonds, hazelnuts and dried flowers all add complexity to the finish. The Terre de Vertus emerges from Les Barillers and Les Faucherets, and was bottled with no dosage. This bottle was disgorged on June 2012.

Pierre Larmandier's 2008 Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Nature Terre de Vertu is a full-flavored, complex, intense and creamy-textured Champagne with lovely brioche, mocha, nuts and chalky/iodine flavors on the nose along with fresh lemon and stewed apple aromas. This excellent Champagne does not need any dosage because it is already full and rich by nature and the mineral length and purity is absolutely stimulating. I would serve this lovely Champagne with a fresh nougat croissant for a Sunday morning brunch. SR March 2016
