Tasting Notes and Scores
Certified Haute Valeur Environnementale. 100% Pinot Noir. Harvested 14 September 2014. Vinified in champagne oak barrels of 205 litres. Bottled April 2015, disgorged May 2019 (four years sur lattes). 2008 bottles produced. Golden colour and smelling of pecans, lavender-and-orange-zest shortbread and the heady scent of peonies. Broad, firm, the pecans with a toasty note building into grainy grilled pear and baked apple. Warm richness rippling out from the forward-driving spear of acidity. Apricot and spice on the finish. Tiny bubbles stitched like sequins into the burnished fabric of the wine. So much life and energy here – every sip offers another flare of flavour. The depth, complexity and powerful structure for ageing. (TC)
