Tasting Notes and Scores
Hugely expressive nose with plenty of depth, peach, red apple, gingerbread and toasted sweet spices. is very focussed and refined, revealing the pedigree of the wine, developing aromas of quince and apple, combined with hints of dried fruits. The palate shows excellent depth of fruit but also a beautiful tension to complement the richness. The finish is beautifully balanced between almond nuttiness and citrus freshness. This is another amazing Pol roger vintage with great aging potential.
Bordeaux Index
Pol Roger's 2012 Brut Vintage continues to show very well indeed, offering up inviting aromas of citrus oil, crisp yellow orchard fruit, peach, smoke, and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, layered and complete, it's deep and fleshy, with excellent concentration, racy acids and an elegant pinpoint mousse. I purchased this wine for my own cellar in magnum, and I can't wait to open them a decade from now.

Harmonious and straight with clarity and beauty to the wine. Cooked-apple and light honey aromas and flavors. Full body. Such balance and creaminess to the texture and weight. Lovely now. September 2019..

Bright lemony colour. There is great red fruit depth to the elegant, still somewhat withdrawn nose of golden delicious apples, yellow plums, vanilla, wine gums, chalk and soft spiciness. There is a lot happening on the rich, even fatty palate. Generosity and friendliness are at the core here. The palate is very much blaanced and promising for more complexity to come. A very correct and textural wine with deliciousness. October 2020.

The 2012 Brut Vintage is radiant and super-expressive from the get-go. Apricot, pastry, baked apple and buttery notes wrap around the palate effortlessly. Soft and caressing, with tons of immediacy, the 2012 is quite showy today. More importantly, it is delicious and also very easy to like. November 2020.

60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay. Seven years on lees. Pale mid gold, with a fine bead. Caramel, brioche and subtle hazelnut notes, over fine, bright citrus fruit. Classic vintage-champagne style, with lovely, even, steady maturation. Fine mousse, crisp and elegant texture, with beautifully integrated, toasted brioche, cream and citrus finish. Lovely length. Class. (TJ)

Cooked apple, salted crackers, biscuit, soft fizz, loads of persistence. Seems to have low dosage and cutting acidity. (RH)
