Tasting Notes and Scores
This has such rich and assertively complex style with spiced-biscuit notes, as well as cherries and almonds. The palate has a very rich, complex and layered feel with lemons, peaches and cherries, framed in spiced-biscuit and pastry flavors. Long and texturally complex with a very fresh finish. Drink or hold.

The NV (MV) 09 Fut de Chêne bristles with an enticing combination of energy, tension and richness. Brioche, pastry, baked apple and lemon confit are all beautifully delineated in the glass. Unlike some of the other wines in the range, the MV 09 has the starting density and richness of fruit to handle the oak and dosage regime. The blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay makes a big difference. This is a terrific edition of the Fut de Chêne. Disgorged November 16, 2015.

Vinous
Elegant, tapered bottle. To be launched by UK importer New Generation on 19 July 2024. I assume the usual blend of 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, some of it vinified and raised in small Argonne oak barrels for one year. MV stands for 'multi-vintage'. This is based on 2019 with the addition of one-third older wine from a perpetual reserve (solera system) begun in 1990. Annoying agrafe clip over the cork. Pale gold. Rich nose. but with sufficient life and freshness. (I've just tasted Roebuck Estates’ new Rare Expressions No 19 which arguably lacks this.) Really very nice balance. Complete and quite a feat to make a wine so interesting from such relatively young wine. Great depth and persistence. (JR)
