The 2018 Les Singuliers Chardonnay-Savagnin Vin de Voile, like the 2019, was produced with a majority of Chardonnay and 5% Savagnin and matured for two years, one of which was under a veil of flor yeasts. It's even more powerful and ripe than the 2019, with 14.5% alcohol and a lower pH (3.0) and 5.2 grams of acidity. It has a spicy nose with classical notes of mushrooms, curry and celery intermixed with yellow fruit, denoting the ripe year. The palate is round and pungent, intense, with a very tasty finish and an iodine and smoky note. Total sulfur is under 20 milligrams, and it has 0.88 grams of volatile acidity that lifts up the wine and gives it freshness. This was the cuvée number 2, so there must have been two bottlings of this wine. It was bottled in June 2023.
