In 2020, an early but exceptionally beautiful harvest, resulted in one of the last decade’s best vintages in Coteaux d’Aix en Provence, We’ve never encountered a harvest as early as this one, says Eric Kurver, owner and winemaker at Maison Saint Aix. The harvest used to start at the end of September: this year we began on the third! The changing climate, along with this year’s growing conditions, led to the grapes' early maturation. They were fully ripe, with a good acidity and an excellent balance between fruitiness and freshness. In my experience, this is one of the best AIX vintages ever. AIX Rosé is the result of dedication and passion to make the best Provence rosé available. Pale pink in colour with a copper hue, it’s vibrant and screams of a summer’s day: the ultimate expression of Provence. The 2020 won the GOLD Medal at the Gilbert and Gaillard International Challenge. We love the attitude and the wine equally, so much so that we can offer sizes of up to 15 litres… that’s a heck of a post-lockdown summer party! A wine that is both 'on trend' and also delivers in the glass? AIX is just the ticket and was something of a no-brainer for this collection. This is even more true when you see the big bottles… a thing of beauty! ‘’We’ve never encountered a harvest as early as this one,” says Eric KuI34rver, winemaker at Maison Saint Aix. ‘’Harvest used to start at the end of September: this year we began on the third! Over the last 10 years, the estate has gone through nothing short of a revolution. The man responsible is the owner and creator of AIX Rosé, Eric Kurver. Moving to France from his homeland the Netherlands, Eric followed his passion for wine and bought Domaine de la Grande Séouve. From vines to cellar he has given the estate a full transformation installing state-of-the-art equipment. From temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and pneumatic presses to next generation harvesting machinery and regular vine replanting, AIX's set up is more than qualified to produce the quality of rosé that only Provence can offer.
