Tasting Notes and Scores
This vineyard is on the same granite as Les Bessards in Hermitage, so it's no surprise that the 2016 Crozes Hermitage les Varonniers is a solid wine. It starts off with forward aromas blackberry pie and pastry crust, yet it delivers a structured, slightly restrained experience on the palate. It's not overly tannic, just reined in by crushed stone notes on the lingering finish. Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate #234, December 2017
