Intense, mineral-tinged cherry and blackcurrant aromas are complemented by suggestions of black pepper, pungent flowers and olive paste. Taut and structured on entry and then more broad on the mid-palate. Offers concentrated dark berry preserve and bitter cherry flavors that are sweetened by a sexy floral pastille accent. Shows excellent delineation on the youthfully tannic finish, which lingers with strong, floral-driven tenacity.

Cask sample. Closed nose. Vivid black-cherry fruit with superb definition and clarity on the palate. Bitter herby, stemmy notes on the finish, which give an appetising crispness. Some raspberry and redcurrant fruit add to the complexity. (RH)
