Tasting Notes and Scores
The 1950 Banyuls from Pietri Geraud is wonderful. It has a stunning bouquet with hazelnut, sloes and strange touches of meat juices. Gayral reminds that it may well have been blended with another vintage at the time. The palate is vibrant on the entry with dried orange peel and Moroccan spices, quite candied with that splash of eau-de-vie on the feisty finish. Superb. Tasted with Philippe Gayral.
