The intensely white-golden colored 2019 Sankt Nikolaus Riesling trocken GG offers an intense, elegant, remarkably refined, coolish and slightly flinty bouquet that combines purity, finesse and precision with elegant generosity and noblesse. The bright, ripe fruit aromas are intertwined with freshly cut grass, lime zest and terroir-driven earthy or iodine/flinty notes, and all of this is is perfectly intertwined so that the bouquet already represents a quiet noblesse and almost aristocratic style. On the palate, this is a noble, elegant and intense, complex and saline, again generous but precise and crystalline structured Nikolaus that has rarely been so filigreed and coolish. This is another stunner of the current Riesling series from Peter Bernhard Kühn. The finish is long, saline, energetic and mouth-tickling but balanced and quiet in its flow. A superb dry Rheingau Riesling! 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2022.
