Tasting Notes and Scores

92.5 ST

Medium red. Sexy soil-driven aromas of strawberry, cherry, gunflint and earth. Silky but not overly thick or fat, offering lively lift to the slightly liqueur-like red fruit flavors. Broad but not heavy, and quite long on the aftertaste. Insidious sweetness here: a very sexy 2009 Barolo.

Transparent ruby with a pale orange rim. This is tasting really well now – tarry tannins after orange-peel-flavoured fruit and a floral top note. Very pretty indeed. And it stood up well to being drunk with two dinners on successive nights. Very clean and fresh. A real, neat, delight. Nothing in excess. (JR)
