Tasting Notes and Scores
The ‘58 was fully mature and singing. Here I found musty dark red fruits mixed with dusty dried floral tones and hints of moist earth. On the palate, silky, almost fleshy textures remained energized through zesty acids as spicy, dried red berry fruits flooded the senses, leaving a tinge of earth and sous bois. The finish was long, slowly drying with time, as hints of spice, minerals and dried florals lingered. This vintage may have seen better days, but I was quite happy with this glass in front of me.
