Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2010 Barolo La Serra is especially powerful and virile in this vintage. Intense black and blue fruit, leather, licorice, smoke and spices meld together in an intense, voluptuous wine backed up by considerable structure. The La Serra is dark, dense and resonant to the core. This is an especially ripe Barolo for the year, but all the elements are in the right place.
Antonio Galloni
Ripe but fresh red plums with gentle cement dust and balsamic on the nose. Elegant sweetness harmonises with density, savoriness and almond. Gentle tannin structure developing. Better in 2016.
James Suckling
Serralunga d’Alba. Leafy, red fruit and beautiful, brick-like tannins and sweet fruit. Embryonic yet a transparent expression of Serralunga. (Walter Speller)
