Tasting Notes and Scores

89 AG

The 2007 Barolo captures the warm, open personality of the vintage in its floral, perfumed fruit. A long, polished finish rounds things out nicely. The 2007 is a touch less exciting and complete than some previous years, but is absolutely delicious today and a great choice for near-term drinking.

Pretty orange peel and chocolate character. Round and fruity with velvety tannins and a fruity finish. All there. Open and friendly. Hard not to drink now. So do it.

James Suckling

Moderately saturated medium red. Sexy red cherry and cinnamon aromas. Sweet and silky, with nicely integrated acidity framing the cherry, raspberry and tobacco flavors. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins.

Ripe bilberry and raspberry notes are appealing in this open, approachable Barolo. Moderately firm, integrated tannins hold up the finish. Drink now through 2020. 1,250 cases imported. (BS)

Savoury and herbal with the fruit still in hiding. The acidity looks almost a little tart because the fruit is still so subdued. Richly tannic finish. (WS)
