Here's a very special bottle from deep inside the historic Bertani library. The 1958 Amarone della Valpolicella shows an inky dark color with candied flavors, dried fruit extract, sweetened Turkish coffee and vintage Port. Indeed, this wine is basically a Recioto della Valpolicella made before the modern regulations for Amarone were drafted. It ends with exotic spice and baked plum.
