Tasting Notes and Scores

88 AM

An older expression, the 2006 Chocolate Block Franschhoek is an open-knit wine that shows old oak aromas with stewed berries and earthy scents of leather and baked clay. On the palate, the wine has good grip and is still holding on. However, if this is still in your cellar, it may be time to look at opening it over the next couple of years. Considering that this is now over a decade old, it still has a medium to long finish and is retaining the structure well. Like all wine, the fruit won't hang on forever.
