Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2013 Wiston Brut Cuvée, disgorged in September 2017, comprises around 45% Pinot Noir, 22% Pinot Meunier and 33% Chardonnay. It derives entirely from Wiston's original vineyard and is matured in used oak barrels bought from Jacques Prieur. The striking nose features enticing scents of baked bread, grilled walnut and faint touches of praline. The palate is nutty and slightly smoky on the entry and offers very good depth and notes of almond, hazelnut, tobacco and orange peel. Reassuringly persistent. Excellent.
