91-94 ST

(97% cabernet sauvignon and 3% petit verdot) Good deep ruby-red. Aromatic nose combines currant, licorice, bitter chocolate, sage, bay laurel, mocha and scorched earth. More backward and medicinal than the 2007, showing more menthol austerity and less sweetness today. This brooding wine cannot currently match the 2007 for mid-palate flesh or depth of flavor. Finishes with strong, dusty, mineral-driven tannins. In an awkward stage today and in need of further elevage
