Tasting Notes and Scores
Medium ruby-purple colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir Troubadour has a beautifully scented nose of dried violet and lilac, crushed stone, pipe tobacco, smoke, forest floor, mushroom and herbal touches over a black and red fruit core. Medium-bodied, it's wonderfully silky with layers of fresh black and red fruits, forest floor and potpourri, supported by very fine, grainy tannins and juicy freshness to lift the very long finish. This is beautifully balanced and so elegant. 229 cases were made.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Cuvée Troubadour is pliant, supple and delicious, with plenty of Russian River exuberance on display. Ripe dark cherry, plum, spice and leather all flesh out in a creamy, beautifully nuanced Pinot loaded with class. I would give the 2016 a few years to come together, as the tannins need time to soften. Even in the early going, the 2016 is impressive.
