UCLA art scholar (his paintings adorn each bottle), Forbes’ “30 under 30” Young Achiever and former Assistant Winemaker at two of southern California’s best domaines, Gavin Chanin is a prodigy. After four years learning from the best in the business he set up his own winery aged just 21. In the years since he has gone on to establish himself as one of California’s stars, not only acclaimed by the critics, but also by fellow winemakers, including the team at Kistler with whom he has also worked. Chanin’s stellar reputation means he has access to some of the best fruit from the greatest vineyards. After picking relatively early to retain freshness and acidity, in the cellar Gavin uses minimal new oak (10-15%) and intervenes as little as possible; his wines are bottled unfiltered.
