The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane is my favorite again of this grouping and has the potential to be a perfect wine, which is really hitting the bull’s-eye in 2014. Plenty of gravelly notes, blueberry, blackberry and mulberry jump from the glass of this inky bluish purple-colored 2014 Dr. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The good news is that they expect to have about 1,200 cases of this, compared to only 752 cases in 2013. It should drink well for 15-20 years.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard impresses for its polish, energy and overall tension. The flavors are bold, incisive and finely-cut throughout. Hints of lavender, mint, spice, licorice and inky blue/purplish fruit are some of the many notes that are laced into the finish. What a gorgeous wine the 2014 is shaping up to be. After a few lackluster vintages at Dr. Crane, things seem to be looking up for this bottling.
