Tasting Notes and Scores

17 SC

Full bottle 1,226 g. 65% Zinfandel, 16% Carignane, 14% Petite Sirah and 5% Mataro. From the wonderfully detailed label, 'Bottled Sept 2023. Since its inception, Ridge has specialized in single-vineyard wines. Three Valleys is the exception, made by carefully blending selections from multiple vineyards. Mild temperatures throughout the growing season allowed the fruit to mature slowly and develop deep fruit flavours for which Sonoma is known ... ingredients: hand-harvested grapes; indigenous yeast; naturally occurring malolactic bacteria; 1% water addition; tartaric acid; oak from barrel aging; minimum effective SO 2 .' Medium verging on deep purple in colour. Earthy potting soil and decaying-leaf reduction complimented by violet and black plum. Round and richly fruited on the palate with refreshing acidity and elevated grippy tannin. (SCJ)
