The 2012 Rudd Oakville Estate Red is impressive. Black fruit, mocha, grilled herbs, smoke, leather, licorice and tobacco meld together in a seamless, layered red full of personality and character. Intensely aromatic, spiced and expressive, the 2012 is super-impressive. If the 2012 is any indication of the direction Rudd is headed, the future looks very bright. The blend is 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc, 7% Malbec, 10% Petit Verdot.
