Though considered a rich, exceptional vintage from the beginning, many wines now taste soft and mushy. Not this one - it has verve and an almost volcanic character along with bright red fruit notes and a long finish. Duncan puts its precision down to their adoption of berry sensory analysis. Like other ripe vintages, the sweetness of the fruit is almost too much.
