Tasting Notes and Scores
From the Less Stevens Vineyard and pouring a nearly opaque red, the 2019 Pinot Noir Hopewell Hills is woodsy with aromas of sandalwood, kirsch, moss-covered earth, and fresh leather. Medium to full-bodied, it takes on crunchy fruit, with snappy fresh acidity and an orange citrus-tinged finish. It’s elegant and long on the palate and will do well with another year or two in bottle.

This cuvée has the black fruit and flesh of the Lafayette Heights cuvée but with a light, reductive quality and earthiness. The palate is rounded with silty tannin and well-balanced, fresh acidity. You can feel a sweetness from the wood and a gravelly intensity. Viscous, fleshy, warm. Long finish.
