Tasting Notes and Scores
95+pts Eric Guido, Vinous The 2019 Pinot Noir Riverline wafts up with a bouquet of savory herbs and crushed chalk, giving way to blackberries and stone dust. Its round textures and ripe wild berry fruits soothe with a tinge of white pepper, minerals mingling toward the close. Sour citrus inflections add a spicy character as the 2019 Riverline tapers off long with a mouth-watering tension. Grippy tannins linger, yet this remains juicy and incredibly fresh. It’s a standout in the Rose & Arrow for its spicy, savory nature. What’s more, I expect that cellaring will bring forward further complexity.
Vinous
A dense, juicy nose of black plum and black cherry with a sweeter smell than the Chehalem Moutains cuvées. Lifted, with a woody cinnamon spice. Round and warm on the palate with fine, sandy tannin spreading over the elevated, balanced acidity. The structure on this is still very tightly wound but the fruit quality feels fleshy and soft for this portfolio. Cola notes developing on the finish.
