Brilliant ruby-red. Heady, oak-spiced dark berry, cherry cola and floral pastille scents are complicated by suggestions of star anise and sassafras. Juicy and expansive in the mouth, offering sweet blackberry, spicecake and mocha flavors braced by a spine of juicy acidity and a hint of blood orange. Finishes smooth, appealingly sweet and very long; subtle, slow-building tannins contribute framework.
