This week marks the release of Ornellaia 2022, which is an epic wine. At 99 points Jane Anson gives this new release her highest-ever score, on par with the legendary 1998, and ranks it higher than Sassicaia in this vintage. Monica Larner places it second only to the 2016. We loved it: there’s a real earthy, spicy weight and a gravelly minerality that adds a sense of gravitas to the voluptuous fruit.
