Tasting Notes and Scores

92-94

Wine Advocate

Aromas of sweet cherries, berries, petals and loamy soil introduce the 2021 La Dominique, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless wine that's attractively deep and complete, with ripe tannins, lively acids and a long, sapid finish. It's a blend of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon from this estate in the ascendant.

92-94

Neal Martin

The 2021 La Dominique presents a focused nose of perfumed blackberry, raspberry, cedar and sous-bois scents with well-integrated oak. The well-balanced palate is fresh and crisp with fine-grained tannins. Silky-smooth leading into a very persistent, tensile finish. This continues La Dominique's upward trajectory. Excellent. Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2022

93-94

James Suckling

Blackberry, walnut and crushed-stone aromas follow through to a medium-bodied palate with medium, round tannins and a juicy, pretty finish. Polished and fine for the vintage.

Jancis Robinson

Red-berry aromas with a hint of vanilla oak. Well-constructed with good mid-palate fruit. Tannins finely honed and some persistence on the finish. Potential for medium-term ageing. (JL)
