The 2021 Hazel's Vineyard Chardonnay is from the southern-most vineyard in the trio of single-vineyard Chardonnays, and it shows a cooling, mineral acidity that offsets the fruit and phenolics in perfect harmony. For me, this cuvée has the most balanced expression and harmony, and it is the most salivating wine to drink of the three. I love it. We know that this vineyard produces age-worthy fruit—the Cabernet is a super example of this—and the wines inevitably start to shine five years from harvest, and well beyond. This is a gorgeous wine from a lovely vineyard site. Drink 2024 - 2037.

The 2021 Chardonnay Hazel's Vineyard is quite a classic Margaret River style, carrying both generous levels of flavour while retaining trademark finesse. Exuberant pineapple, grapefruit and tangy blossom fruits jump out of the blocks well matched by high quality, reserved new oak. Fantastic grapefruit flavour impact follows driven by juicy acidity before more savoury toasted almond and nougat emerge over a long, flavoursome finish.
