Expansive aromas of black currant, cherry liqueur, vanilla, cured tobacco and black pepper, backed by a hint of smokiness. Supple, sweet and broad, offering palate-coating black and blue fruit and violet pastille flavors and a touch of candied licorice that comes up slowly with air. Plenty rich, but there's real vivacity here as well. Closes on a suave floral note, with excellent clarity and smooth tannins lending gentle grip. In the category of high-end, Bordeaux-inspired red wines from Chile, this one delivers outstanding value.
