An excellent 1990, feels welcoming, with grip and character, full of life. The now melted, finessed tannins are deliciously supple, the colour beginning to brick around the edges, fruits softened to autumnal blackberry and bilberry, with smoked earth and turmeric. Exeptional quality, shows just how Bordeaux can surprise in its ability to power through the decades, as this is tertiary but absolutely still delivering. 20% new oak. Second vintage with Eric Tourbier as technical director across Mouton, Armailhac and Clerc Milon.

Good medium-dark color. Aroma of roasted nuts has a faint barnyard rusticity. Reasonably concentrated and ripe, but lacks the middle-palate richness of the vintage. Dusty tannins show a dry edge.
