Tasting Notes and Scores
Tasted by Jane Anson(at Primeur week tastings in Bordeaux, 01 May 2021)
This is expertly delivered, full of sappy black fruits really dancing through the palate. Juicy but with just enough austerity to make things slow down and give you a reason to take a little longer over the glass. White pepper and rosemary spice, thoroughly balanced - classic Graves. Jean-Jacques Dubourdieu is the winemaker here.

Decanter
A straightforward red with dark berry, dark mushroom, medium body and round tannins.

The 2020 Clos Floridène is a powerful, driving wine. Bright and punchy in the glass, the 2020 has plenty of energy, all propped up by a spine of tannin that lends energy. Floral and savory accents add perfume over time. It will be interesting to see if the 2020 softens with élevage.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 Clos Floridene is redolent of black cherry compote, ripe, juicy plums and redcurrant jelly, plus suggestions of dried Mediterranean herbs, mossy tree bark and Sichuan pepper. The medium-bodied palate offers mouth-coating black and red fruit flavors with a firm, chewy backbone and plenty of freshness, finishing with an herbal lift.
Wine Advocate
Undated cask sample. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, aged in barriques for a year.
Deep purple as is the Dubourdieu way in 2020. Real freshness and zest on the nose. Remarkable sweetness of fruit followed by really dry tannins on the end. Salty and savoury.
