Tasting Notes and Scores
Lots of currants, dried strawberries, sweet tobacco and cedar on the nose. Full to medium body and a solid structure. Reminds me of some outstanding Lafites of the 1980s such as 1985. A little tight and closed. Try in 2020.

Red currant, cherry and pomegranate notes form the core and flesh out steadily through the finish, picking up apple wood and anise accents along the way. Features polished grip through the finish, with a light echo of loam lending some contrast. Best from 2017 through 2025. 25,000 cases made. — JM

A deep, generous wine, the 2012 Duhart-Milon offers lovely depth and resonance throughout. Black fruit, graphite, smoke and licorice are some of the signatures. The 2012 is a bit rustic and rough around the edges, but it has enough depth to drink well for another decade plus.

[62CS/38M] (35h/ha, 12.7%) A marked minerality behind the ripe Cabernet; supple, fresh, fruity and flowing with a gentle tannin; ripe, juicy wine of moderate complexity, a very attractive, very ‘drinkable’ freshness, and nice light fruit and aroma length; a distinct ‘easy’ Merlot quality and a slightly richer, sweeter fruit than in the Carruades, with more aromatic length. Drink 2019-30.

Tight, focused nose with dark fruit and a touch of graphite. Pretty intense, chocolatey, plummy palate. Quite stylish and polished – another very well made wine which doesn’t seem to have suffered too much from the hard vintage conditions.
Bordeaux Index
A blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot, this 2012 exhibits good ripeness as well as a strong herbaceous streak throughout the aromas and flavors. It is a very good, medium-bodied effort, but it is not as exceptional as some of the Duharts we have seen in recent vintages (2008, 2009 and 2010). It is slightly richer than the second wine of Lafite Rothschild, Carruades.
Wine Advocate
Tasted en primeur at the château. The Duhart Milon is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot cropped between 27th September and 17th October. It has a tightly wound bouquet that demands coaxing (perhaps because of the low pressure that day.) There are broody black fruit, sous-bois and graphite, but missing a little vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline note on the entry. The tannins are quite fine, though it is missing a little weight in the mid-palate and on the finish. It is an understated Duhart, one that will be more approachable that other recent vintages. Tasted April 2013.

Dense colour, meaty/cassis nose with firm Lafite-stable elegance, a fine Pauillac with a good future. Drinking Window 2017 - 2032

62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot. A little deeper than Carruades. Very light nose indeed. Quite a strong palate impact. Very firm and quite complex. Veering towards St-Estèphe austerity. Admirable restraint. Hums on the finish. I do like this. Suave.
