Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2019 Fombrauge exhibits rich aromas of cherries, dark chocolate, plum preserve, licorice and new oak, followed by a full-bodied, rich and fleshy palate that's soft and fleshy, with a sweet core of fruit, ripe acids and rich, powdery tannins. This is a generous, front-loaded Saint-Émilion from Bernard Magrez.

Full bottle 1,567 g. Too heavy! And as usual adorned with the name and image of Bernard Magrez all over, front and back. Mid crimson, but one can now see the bottom of the glass! Some freshness on the nose but lots of sweetness on the palate. Rich, sweet and a tad heavy. But the fruit and tannin are is decent balance. Halfway between late-20th-century and early-21st-century style. Quite long with a hint of dark chocolate and just a tiny bit of sourness. (JR)
