Tasting Notes and Scores
The La Tour Blanche has an introspective bouquet at first, one that is atypical of the estate. Give it some aeration and there are attractive chalky scents emerging, accompanied by citrus peel and linden. The palate is very well-balanced with a touch of pepper on the entry. This feels cohesive in the mouth, demonstrating well-judged acidity and a linear, zesty finish that leaves you with a twist of sour lemon. This is a very well-crafted La Tour Blanche, refined and intellectual.

Pale yellow-gold. Superripe nose began a bit subdued but hinted at citrus fruits, grilled nuts and honey with aeration. Very rich and honeyed, showing fleshy, ripe tropical fruit and orange marmalade flavors. Finishes with very good but not outstanding length, in need of a little more acidity for better lift and cut.

Tasted blind. Spicy citrus and dried grasses. Rich apricot sweetness and impressive intensity and length. Power and showy, very very sweet but balanced. (JH)
