Medium red-ruby. Full-blown aromas of plum, mocha, hot stones, camphor and nutty, spicy oak, along with a whiff of leather. Sweet, lush and plump; today I find that this wine has less shape than the young 2007, even if it's richer. Finishes with round but chewy tannins that call for some bottle aging.

CS Mid crimson. Lively and fully ripe and reaches all the corners. The vintage is obviously very good though this is a little tough on the end – the tannins are not as fondus as those of many other 2005s. (JR)
