Fantastic focus with dried pineapple and honey with incredible botrytis character, with spices such as white pepper and cloves, and super dried fruit. It’s medium-bodied with a terrific core of fruit and a long, long finish. So spicy. 100% semillon.

Dried apricot and fig, with waves of white pear and tarte tartin. Luscious, depth through the mid palate. Owned by the Tari family but the vineyard is now looked after by Grands Chais de France, overseen by Vincent Cachau with Valérie Lavigne consultant. Unusually this is 100% Sémillon in the 2022 vintage, will be aged in 30% new oak barrels, 145g/l residual sugar. Harvest October 11-28.

92% Sémillon, 6% Sauvignon Blanc, 2% Muscadelle. RS 150 g/l. Cask sample. Pure and gourmand on the nose. Rich and sweet on the palate. Botrytised note but could do with a little more freshness. Slightly dusty finish. (JL)
